Getting started with CompassHQ takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account and configuring your organization so your team can begin tracking engineering delivery metrics right away.
Creating Your Account
- Visit compasshq.com and click Get Started.
- Sign up using your work email address or authenticate with Google SSO.
- Verify your email address by clicking the confirmation link sent to your inbox.
- Choose a password that meets the minimum security requirements (at least 12 characters, including a number and a special character).
Once authenticated, you will land on the organization setup screen.
Configuring Your Organization
After your account is created, you need to set up your organization profile. This determines how data is grouped and displayed across CompassHQ.
- Organization name — Enter the name of your company or engineering department. This appears in reports and is visible to all members.
- Timezone — Select the primary timezone for your organization. This affects how daily and weekly metrics are aggregated. You can change it later under Settings.
- Reporting week start — Choose whether your reporting week begins on Sunday or Monday. This controls how weekly DORA metrics and delivery summaries are calculated.
Billing and Plan Selection
CompassHQ offers a free trial period so you can evaluate the platform before committing. During setup you can:
- Start with the free trial (no credit card required).
- Select a plan that fits your team size if you are ready to subscribe.
- Add billing details under Settings > Billing at any time.
You will receive a reminder before your trial expires, and no charges are applied until you explicitly confirm a paid plan.
